A Wellness examination includes an evaluation of all of your pet's major organ systems.
We will use the wellness visit to ask you questions about your pet's behavior, appetite, exercise habits and regular activities at home. This is also an excellent time for us to discuss any routine diagnostic testing that may benefit your pet or to recommend any vaccinations that may be due. If your pet seems healthy, a wellness exam is a good opportunity to note any changes, such as weight gain or loss or other subtle changes that may not be evident at home. Sometimes, information obtained during a wellness exam can help detect early signs of illness and address health issues before they progress. Your pet, like you with your doctor, will need a yearly wellness exam in order to receive any prescriptions needed throughout the year such as heart worm and flea preventative.
A Sickness examination will determine what is necessary for your pet to become healthy again.
If your pet is not feeling well, FVH has a sickness exam that is more in-depth than the wellness exam. This will possibly include diagnostics such as; full blood work, urine testing, x-rays and possibly an ultrasound. These exams take longer giving time to run diagnostics and find the correct plan for your pet to regain a healthy status.
